On Wednesday, April 26, at 12:37 p.m., police were dispatched to the high school for a report of a fight among students and involving a teacher. Responding units arrived to find the fight had been broken up and the involved parties were separated.

An investigation conducted by Detective Fariyd Holmes concluded that the fight originated when three female students, ages 14, 15, and 16, began assaulting a 15-year-old student.

A substitute teacher, 24, attempted to intervene and break up the fight at which time she too was assaulted by the three students. The fight was ultimately broken up by high school security personnel.

The three suspect juveniles, charged with aggravated assault, were taken into custody by responding officers and transported to the Clayton G. Graham Public Safety Building where they awaited pickup by their guardians.

As the adult guardians waited for the juveniles to be released, a fight broke out at the Public Safety Building among the adults, police said.

Responding officers subsequently took the adults into custody without further incident.

This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges may be pending.

The adults charged with disorderly conduct were Monique Spellman, 42, of Atlantic City; Tanika Joyce, 45, of Atlantic City; and Brandi Braxton, 31, of Atlantic City.

The juveniles were issued summonses pending a future court date and released to a guardian.

Spellman, Joyce, and Braxton were also issued summonses pending future court dates.
